Description
Perennial. Usually grown as an annual. Native to the Andes. Semi double, slightly ruffled fragrant flowers. Non-trailing bush variety 18 inches tall. The flowers are held well above the foilage for a colorful display all summer long.
Uses
Excellent ground cover, along fences, walks. Good cut flowers. Young leaves, flowers and seed pods have peppery flavor like watercress and may be used in salads. Grows and blooms quickly in full sun or partial shade. Poor soil enhances flowering.
Seeding Rates
One ounce to 100 square feet. Sow seed 1/2 inch deep. Germinates in 7 to 8 days. Blooms in 4 to 6 weeks.
Care
Easy to grow. Needs no feeding in average soils.
