Moss Verbena
(Verbena tenuisecta)

Description
Perennial, fast spreading, flowering ground cover. The finely divided, deep green foliage grows to about 12 inches in height and spreads two to three feet. Moss Verbena is covered with small clusters of lavender/purple flowers in spring and summer.
Uses
Slopes and flat areas where bright spring and summer color is desired. Because of its low growth habit and bright flowers, this species is a valuable addition to seed mixes used in manicured landscaped areas.
Seeding Rates
Sow one half ounce to 150 square feet. Keep soil moist until seed germinates in two to four weeks.
Care
As Moss Verbena is well adapted to hot, sunny sites and a wide range of well-drained soils, it is ideal for slope seedings. Once established only infrequent, deep irrigations are required. Fertilizing twice a year with an all-purpose fertilizer is recommended.
Availability
