Kentucky Bluegrass
Description
Kentucky Bluegrasses are very competitive cool season grasses that grow in a wide range of climates. Bluegrasses are the standard when it comes to a lush, dense appearance. It does best in full sun but will tolerate light shade. Desirable traits of Kentucky Bluegrasses are high wear tolerance due to the growth by rhizomes and very good turf density making it popular for sportsfields, playgrounds and parks. Waterworks™ has improved tolerance to dollar spot disease and possesses improved wear tolerance. Waterworks™ is a certified “TWCA” product meaning that it has been bred and tested to show improved drought tolerance. (See reverse side for information on TWCA standards for certification.)

Seeding Rates
New turf: 3-5 pounds per 1,000 square feet or 130 to 215 pounds per acre. Overseeding exisng turf: 1.5 to 2 pounds per 1,000 square feet or 65-85 pounds per acre.
Establishment
Emergence: 14-21 days under optimum temperature range between 68-86 degrees, longer under cooler temperatures.
First mowing approximately 14 days after emergence (may be longer under cooler temperatures).
First limited use approximately 21 days after emergence.
