Beans are a warm season crop and are sensitive to frost and cold soil temperatures. Plant your first crop when the soil is warm. For prolonged harvest, stagger your plantings every 2-3 weeks. |

Thin when plants are 2 inches high. Water frequently by soaking the soil. Apply 5-10-10 fertilizer every 4 weeks in a furrow 6 inches away from plants. Mulching helps to keep soil moist. |

Harvest when pods are young and tender, before the seeds inside fully develop. Pick pods frequently to keep plants productive. |

Rotate the location of beans from year to year to discourage disease. |
