Okra is a warm weather, short season crop and grows well under the same conditions as sweet corn. It grows to a size of 5 feet tall with large leaves and very showy flowers. Okra is popular in soups and gumbos or when breaded and fried. This variety is an All-America Selections Winner meaning that it has been tested by a network of independent judges who determined that their garden performance was superior. |

Soak seed for 24 hours prior to planting. Do not plant until the soil is warm. Seeds may be started indoors and transplanted into the garden. |

Thin when plants are 3 inches high. Mulch to keep weeds down and retain moisture. Plants need to be staked as they grow. |

Harvest the pods when they are 2-3 inches long. Harvest every 2-3 days to encourage production. If pods are left to ripen, the plant will stop producing. |

Wear gloves and long sleeves when harvesting to avoid skin irritation. |
