Cantalopes (also known as Muskmelons) are easy to grow and have four requirements for full development and flavor: lots of space, full sun, plenty of water and warm temperatures. With proper care this variety will develop into a beautiful, full flavored fruit. |

Seed Depth: 1 in. |
Plant Spacing: 12 in. |

Choose a warm and sunny location, preferably south facing. Add 1/2 cup of bone meal to each foot of row at planting time. Seeds may be started indoors and transplanted into the garden. |
Thin when plants touch each other. It is helpful to cover the area with black plastic mulch after thinning or cover with organic mulch. |
Harvest melons when a slight crack circles the stem at the point of attachment to the fruit and slips off with little help. |
Use inverted clay pots to support developing fruit on the vine. It keeps the fruit dry and insect free. |
