Bonsai 2000 exhibits improved uniformity an even finer texture and exceptionally darker color that holds its color well into the winter. The biggest improvement is its ability to establish quickly compared to most other tall fescue varieties. Bonsai 2000 is a continuation of the dramatic improvements in turfgrass research. It is the next step in the groundbreaking Bonsai family. Bonsai 2000 continues the pacesetting trend that the original Bonsai established when it was introduced in 1989. The most recent test data shows Bonsai 2000 to be among the highest rated tall fescue varieties in California according to USDA trial data.

Because of its outstanding density, durability and low maintenance, Bonsai 2000 lends itself to a wide range of uses including: Home Lawns, Playgrounds, Parks, Commercial Developments, Cemeteries, Golf Course Roughs Bonsai 2000 is also excellent in mixtures with Kentucky Bluegrass with Bonsai 2000 at 80-90% of the mixture.

New turf: 10 pounds per 1000 square feet or 400 pounds per acre. Overseeding: 6 to 10 pounds per 1000 square feet or 250-400 pounds per acre.

Emergence: 10-14 days. First mowing: aproximately 30 days (may be longer in cool season). First limited use: aproximately 50 days.

Climatic Conditions: All (except high altitude) Soils: All soil types pH range: Prefers pH range from 5.5 to 6.5, tolerates 4.7 to 8.5. Fertilization: Bonsai 2000 requires two applications of balanced fertilizer per year to maintain a luxurious green turf without excess growth. Slow release fertilizers are recommended. Mowing height: 1 to 1 1/2 inches, can be increased to 2 to 3 inches in hot weather to reduce water usage.
